Gnolls were a humanoid race that most closely resemble human-hyena hybrids within Faerûn. They were carnivorous 5e; 4e; 2e; 1e. 5e. 4e. 2e. 1e. 5e; 4e; 3e; 1e Prince of Gnolls, Yeenoghu was the patron of all gnolls, having earlier displaced Gorellik, and commanded the servitude of ghouls through. So I’m playing a gnoll in a game soon, hopefully. If anyone has some advice for me on how to go about the RP angle, I would appreciate it.

My expectations will be absurdly high. Relevant details – Holdn is trying to adhere to a Good alignment. The only thing I don’t particularly like is the archery tendency given to gnolls. You have advantage on an attack roll against a creature if at ynoll one of your allies is within 5 feet of the creature and the ally isn’t incapacitated.

Another major problem is that, as mentioned above, gnolls most visually resemble the spotted hyena. Aphorite – Duskwalker – Ganzi. It’s just that she’s rather awfully bland nowand that doesn’t seem like it would make her a good choice for this sort of situation unless the DM is already pushing her. Gnolls mature with remarkable speed for intelligent humanoids; some cite this as proof of their demonic heritage and suggest that it is unnatural for a creature to be ready for battle so soon after birth.

They weigh between and lbs. In spite of the savage nature of the gnolls there are some ynoll to their culture that are not inherently repulsive.
This is my attempt to port the 4e Gnoll Race from this source: Hamadryad – Pixie – Satyr. Gnolls reach adulthood as soon as they are spawned from bloated Hyenas that have feasted on blood from the slaughter and live up to 50 years, but rarely do so from their constant marauding. In the earliest editions, they were actually created by Gorellik, a giant hyena-like lesser member of the Giant ‘s pantheon, but he was such a lazy, disinterested, stupid god that Yeenoghu was able to steal the gnolls away from him and he never even noticed.
They were given a rather slap-dash generic evil humanoid lore, with about the most notably things being a profound laziness that leads to a reliance on slavery, and a particular fondness for cannibalism.
Eberronof course, shook things up a lot further. Flinds are the most well-known branch, having appeared in the editions on and off throughout the years. In 4th and 5th edition, gnolls were directly tied to Yeenoghu and given status as his creations; a fusion of demon and hyena that he engineered in 4e, and hyenas that spontaneously transformed after scavenging from his kills in 5e.
