You don’t know what it means to give that up, even for a moment. I’ve read various reviews of this book and had mixed feelings about reading it.

Freyrik is immediately attracted to him and keeps him as his slave. Ayden was so distrustful of humans, but prince Frey eventually earned his trust. Apr 05, Tere rated it liked it Shelves: Poor Mat and Dougie, so nice and good people, Nikolai is one that you easy will hate and he is evil. I love the whooshing noise they make as they go by.

After all that happened, why could Freyrik still so adore his brother and his ruler? Bravo Rachel Haimowitz bravo! No cover can compare to that. Ayden even admits that if he’d met this man or any other in battle he’d killed him without second thought but he is simply opposed to death-penality as elves don’t practise it.

Counterpoint (Song of the Fallen, #1) by Rachel Haimowitz (1 star ratings)

All of it changes the world from one that would be similar to our to one that has to adjust to the realities they are faced with and their behavior seems very authentic to human nature, even if the stimuli they react to is not something people in our world ever had to worry about in that extend.

There are hints that the elves mature slowly so this makes some sense paired gaimowitz the fact that Freyrik is responsible for his people and takes his responsibility fachel. How the hell is it even legal to end a book like that??

How is that even possible?? Why is Freyrick so different from apparently all other men? Ayden was able to throw lightning at the soldiers, which ended up killing several before he was finally subdued and brought before Prince Freyrik.

Counterpoint by Rachel Haimowitz

At the beginning it was Freyrik who had to constantly reach out to Ayden, while the elf was always shutting him out. I liked the characters and in particular how xounterpoint author had perfectly captured the frustrations of both characters for their situation – even if Ayden was annoying at times.

Rachel Haimowitz is on page 27 of 92 of Echoes of the Future: It had the most beautiful world building I’d seen in ages. Rachel Haimowitz made a comment on All-Nighter. The language the archaisms – sometimes I had to read the sentence for at least 3 times to understand the meaning.

After reading a lot of lousy books, patiently waiting and reading on in the hopes of it becoming good, I learned to abndon it and move on rather than waste your time finishing such books and end up being disappointed.

Counterpoint by Rachel Haimowitz book review

For readers who are seeing this series for the first time I recommend you read the first book, you will not be disappointed. In the previous book, Ayden and Freyrik had to face their own prejudice and that of Freyrik’s people to find love in their relationship.

Nov 28, Jeff Erno rated it it was amazing Shelves: The whole set up of the story confused me. Instead I became more and more invested in Ayden and his struggle to reconcile his feelings.

Does he want a gold-star saying ‘Look at me I’m not a rapist! And I can’t wait to read more! In a magical world of lies, secrets, betrayals can something so pure as love survive? Now it seems a bit sweet on Rik’s part.
