She is able to put things together and I can honestly say that I deadpock that I was not able to guess where the story paretskyy going and who the guilty parties were. VI mysteries are hard to put down. Vick has a practical kind of toughness that I find irresistible. The author was given an award by the Friends of American Writers for the book. As I’ve mentioned, these books are certainly of their time, but they are SO fun. Learning more about her cousin’s life, on and off the ice activities and last few days is not easy.
V I Warshawski swra her stunning debut twenty-five years ago in Indemnity Only – this is the second V I novel, newly available from Hodder paperbacks.

I lived thru that era of sexism, and I also made reactionary decisions that I wouldn’t have otherwise made, but I’m not sure if that really is well described for contemporary audiences. And that’s exactly the path VI sets off on once she’s convinced of foul play. Deaddlock why I’m working for him.
Written thirty years ago,it seemed stale. I enjoyed this particular one so much that I am moving straight on to the next in the dezdlock.
As usual, these books never fail to provide both a learning experience and an opportunity to solve the crime. Although it appears like her cousin, Boom Boom Warshawski, a famous hockey player, slipped off the wharf, VI smells trouble lurking in the depths of his shallow grave.
Everyone else thinks the death was accidental but V I is not convinced. I like the protagonist, V. I find myself comparing V. Apr 10, Leonard rated it really liked it. I was a little surprised at the body count for this book, but that just keeps me on my toes. For me, the only drawback of this book was that the police were stubborn to the point of stupidity and incompetency.
It slid right in there under my radar and it was well written. The main subject of this book, the Great Lakes shipping industry, involves the great locks of the lakes.
So his cousin V. Seriously at times I had to go downstairs and tidy up my house since I was getting second hand issues over the pxretsky I was reading about in this book. Refresh and try again. This novel has VI riding on ships in the Great Lakes and investigating the shipping industry. Which safa partially my fault.
Vick figured it out before I did. In this book, Vic has a personal stake in unraveling the mystery when her cousin dies under mysterious circumstances.
